Traditional construction and traditional culture represent a valuable basis for developing rural tourism of Slavonia, accordingly with these orientations we will try to encourage interested investors to revitalization Slavonian traditional estates.

Simultaneously we will represent these innovative suggestions and solutions which are today in Slavonia launched this endeavor for preserving traditional constructions according to local bio-climatic characteristics of this area.
In Slavonia there are hundreds of micro villages, and especially interested are villages located in areas of Slavonian highland.
In these small Slavonian villages are located a big number of abandoned estates which can be revisited and place a function of developing rural tourism and ecotourism according to trends of green construction which is today present in countries of European Union.
Before more than ten years, between Nova Gradiška and Slavonski Brod, on border Brodsko-posavske and Požeško-slavonske counties is opened eco-Ethno village, Stara Kapela.
The project of renewal of abandoned traditional estates was launched by local association “Eko-etno selo Stara Kapela”.
In the frame of the project, reconstruction is old Slavonian houses and barns, arranged yards, gardens and orchards, the main path through this village, planted three alleys, resort areas, and built a big parking lot for guest reception.
After these first steps of the local association, many other volunteers joined, who redeemed abandoned village estates and edited them for rural tourism needs.
It collected more than one hundred old subjects and handicrafts of original Slavonian traditional culture which is recognizable for Croatian Posavina. After that first guests started to arrive from all parts of Croatia and countries of the European Union.
Eco-ethno village Stara Kapela was given a diffusive hotel, a school in nature was launched, and the project was helped by the ministry of tourism RH and Brodsko-posavska county.
Baranja is the most developed touristic area east of Croatia with many villages in which traditional houses are restored, and the traditional economy in almost two decades is developing many attractive contents of rural tourism, eco-tourism, eno gastro tourism, cyclo tourism, and adventurous tourism.

Meeting mountaineers on Dilj hill is organized traditional only every year with gathering mountaineers from every part of Croatia on the entrance in village Ruševo when we come from the direction of Slavonski Brod.
How Ruševo is placed on the state road which is connecting Slavonski Brod and Našice, to this area is possible to come for a short amount of time with quite good roads.
From the direction of Slavonski Brod on highway A3, and the direction of Našice with state road DC-53.
Through Ruševo from both sides are lining up rows of traditional houses and yards suitable for renewal and development of rural tourism.
In the process of developing rural tourism and renewing traditional constructions, it is necessary to think through the process of building, based on the principle of sustainability which is applying today as generally accepted access green construction in all countries of the European Union.
Process invents revitalizations of rural houses for vacation or building new houses for vacation, in standards of Slavonian traditional constructions, simultaneously it could be connected to principles of green construction.
The Slavonian environment and landscape are needed to permanently preserve and protect in all processes revitalization traditional estates, from the disposal of construction waste, planning of water consumption, choices, and ways of using the material, respecting the principle of energetic efficiency, and using renewable sources of energy.
In the development of rural tourism, it is important to enable favorable conditions for appliance standards of green construction as acceptable access of revitalization Slavonian villages and make her available to local investors through different forms of green support.
